The mainstay of our work in Vanni is the Scholarship Program. We started it last year. This year we are spending a total of Sl Rs 1,800,000 in providing monthly stipends to students ranging from Grade 1 to Grade. This is a 40% increase from last year. The disbursement amounts are Rs 3,500 per month to the advanced level (grade 11/12) students. 2500 to students of Grade 7-10, Rs 2,000 to students of Grades 3 to 6 Rs 1500 to students of 1 – 2 and Rs 1,000 for the Kindergarten students. It is noteworthy that the amount given to the advanced level students matches their private tuition costs and will help these needy students prepare for their University Entrance examinations well
